Sous Chef - Catering

Simple Catering Kitchen is a growing Gold Coast catering business known for fresh, high-quality food, exceptional service, and a positive team culture. We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support our Head Chef, help lead our kitchen team, and play a key role in our continued growth.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work alongside the team to ensure every order leaves the kitchen to the highest standard.

You'll assist with daily kitchen operations, food production, stock control, ordering, food safety compliance, and team supervision. Most importantly, you'll help foster a positive, professional kitchen culture where teamwork, accountability, and respect are non-negotiable.

This role requires a chef who enjoys both creative food preparation and large-scale production. You'll be involved in preparing everything from grazing and corporate catering through to bulk production of our in-house baked goods, sausage rolls, cookies, brownies, and event menu items.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen leader

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Experience with stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage

• Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance

• Australian permanent residency or unrestricted working rights required

• Current Australian driver's licence

• Ability to provide a satisfactory police check if requested
