About the role

We are seeking a motivated, creative and customer-focused Chef to join our catering team based at St Marys on a full time basis.

As the Chef, you will report to the Manager, Accommodation and Services and be responsible for the day to day preparation, delivery and service of delicious and nutritionally appropriate meals that reflect customer choice.

Visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate who demonstrates the skills, qualifications, and experience required for the role.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Food preparation, service, delivery and collection

Ensuring the Food Safety Program is followed and records kept up to date

Adhering to Speech Pathology recommendations

Storage & Inventory Management

Maintenance & cleanliness of the kitchen & service area

Organising Kitchen equipment maintenance

Ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders

Providing good customer service and managing feedback in line with SummitCare's Feedback system

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A current Criminal Record Check

Completed a Certificate III or IV in Hospitality / Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

Minimum two (2) years' experience in a Cook role within Aged Care / Commercial kitchen environment

Ability to communicate clearly & effectively ensuring cultural sensitivity is respected

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current HACCP guidelines

Experience in a wide range of cooking, diet and nutritional requirements

Competent in food preparation & service, cooking & plating, with demonstrated experience cooking for a large group and in sandwich making

Ability to supervise and coordinate catering staff with their daily duties

Demonstrated ability to work within a team and without supervision

This position is at Cook level rather than a Chef level
