Cafe Cook or Chef – Daytime Only | Emerald & Surrounds

We're on the hunt for a Cook or a Chef to join our growing team at Upper Beaconsfield General Store & Over the Road.

This role is perfect for someone who has been qualified recently or in the last few years and is ready to step up — someone who wants more responsibility, more variety, and to be part of building something great. Experienced cooks and final year apprentices would be considered.

👨‍🍳 About the Role

• Predominantly daytime café/kitchen role (no nights - excluding occasional catering gigs)

• Work across a fast-paced café and takeaway environment

• Be trusted to run the kitchen independently at times

• Work alongside a young, energetic team

• Opportunity to grow as the business expands

🔥 What You'll Be Doing

• Running the kitchen day-to-day (with support from Head Chef & management)

• Food prep and service execution to a high standard

• Assisting with ordering, stock control and minimising waste

• Training and supporting apprentice/junior kitchen staff

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen

• Working closely with front-of-house to deliver great service

✅ What We're Looking For

• Experienced Cook or Qualified chef (or close to finishing)

• 1–5 years experience in a commercial kitchen

• Ability to work independently and take ownership

• Strong communication and team mindset

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Someone who wants to grow with the business (not just clock in/out)

• Must have permanent residency status in Australia
