Cafe Cook or Chef – Daytime Only | Emerald & Surrounds
We're on the hunt for a Cook or a Chef to join our growing team at Upper Beaconsfield General Store & Over the Road.
This role is perfect for someone who has been qualified recently or in the last few years and is ready to step up — someone who wants more responsibility, more variety, and to be part of building something great. Experienced cooks and final year apprentices would be considered.
👨🍳 About the Role
Predominantly daytime café/kitchen role (no nights - excluding occasional catering gigs)
Work across a fast-paced café and takeaway environment
Be trusted to run the kitchen independently at times
Work alongside a young, energetic team
Opportunity to grow as the business expands
🔥 What You'll Be Doing
Running the kitchen day-to-day (with support from Head Chef & management)
Food prep and service execution to a high standard
Assisting with ordering, stock control and minimising waste
Training and supporting apprentice/junior kitchen staff
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen
Working closely with front-of-house to deliver great service
✅ What We're Looking For
Experienced Cook or Qualified chef (or close to finishing)
1–5 years experience in a commercial kitchen
Ability to work independently and take ownership
Strong communication and team mindset
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Someone who wants to grow with the business (not just clock in/out)
Must have permanent residency status in Australia
