Chef de Partie – Full-Time
Location: Queensland, Australia Salary: 75k to 85k Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated chef who takes pride in delivering high-quality food, maintaining kitchen standards, and working collaboratively within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing your designated section, ensuring consistency in food preparation and presentation, and supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a high standard.
· Manage and maintain your assigned kitchen section.
· Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
· Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.
· Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
· Minimise food wastage and maintain portion control.
· Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
· Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work environment.
· Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
· Work effectively as part of a team during busy service periods.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or experienced Commis Chef ready to take the next step.
· Relevant commercial cookery qualifications (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred).
· Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
· Understanding of food safety principles.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.
· A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
· Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
