Our menu offers a modern Australian approach using local and seasonal produce– with a focus on fresh clean and flavourful dishes inspired by cuisines from the Mediterranean coastline.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef for an exciting opportunity located a few minutes from the CBD, nestled on the rooftop terrace of Cockle Bay Wharf.
Reporting to the Venue General Manager, you will be instrumental in operating all food production activities with particular focus on food quality, food consistency, food cost, menu design, implementation, as well as health, hygiene and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the kitchen in a busy high paced environment
Ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction through the highest standard of food quality and presentation
Management of team members, equipment and stock
Manage effective supplier relationships and supply forecasts
Ensure food safety and HACCP requirements are strictly adhered to
Food ordering, and stock and inventory control
Menu creation and food costing
Desired Skills and Experience:
We will require a minimum 2-3 years' experience in a Head Chef role, within a high performing renowned Sydney venue, have excellent food knowledge background and exceptional customer service skills.
Able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Is highly organized and able to work under pressure
Creative flair
Has a clear understanding of culinary trends and customer needs
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strategic and guest orientated perspective
Highest levels of personal integrity
Strong ability to organise effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
Strong leadership and attention to detail
Will take full accountability and 'ownership' of their role
Has proven experience leading kitchens through fast paced service periods
A positive approach
