About the role

We are seeking a talented Malaysian/Indonesian Chef/Cook to join our team for a new Restaurant in Mickleham, VIC. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Malaysian/indonesian cuisine to delight our customers. With a focus on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, you will play a key part in shaping the Restaurants culinary offerings and delivering an outstanding dining experience.

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare and cook a variety of Malaysian dishes to the highest standard

2. Ensure all meals are presented beautifully and adhere to the Restaurants high quality standards

3. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment

4. Collaborate with the wider team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes

5. Uphold strict food safety and hygiene practices

6. Assist with inventory management and ordering of ingredients

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a chef or cook, specialising in Malaysian cuisine

2. Formal culinary qualifications or training

3. Any culinary certificate is required for this position

4. Excellent knowledge of Malaysian cooking techniques, flavours and ingredients

5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food presentation

6. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

8. Passion for using fresh, seasonal produce to create delicious, authentic dishes
