Annual Salary : AUD $80,000 – $100,000 per annum (plus superannuation)
Istanbul Chargrill & Kebab Palace Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and qualified Cook to join our team on a full-time basis at our North Lakes, QLD location.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Examine food stuffs to ensure quality, freshness and compliance with food safety standards
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, chargrills and other cooking equipment
Prepare, season and cook a range of food items including chargrilled meats and kebabs
Season food during cooking to achieve authentic flavour profiles
Portion food, place on plates, and add gravies, sauces and garnishes as required
Store food in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with health regulations
Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements
Plan menus and estimate food requirements as directed
Train other kitchen staff and apprentices where required
Maintain a clean, organised and compliant kitchen environment at all times
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
AQF Certificate IV OR a minimum of 1 year of relevant education.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen management standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Valid Food Handling/Food Safety certificate (desirable)
