Cookfood prep for busy bakery

About the role

Envie French Bakery is seeking a Cook/Food Prep to join our team in Alexandra Headland, Queensland. This is a casual position for around 32 to 35h a week over 5 days with early start (5.30am), perfect for someone looking for flexible work in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that our customers receive fresh, high-quality prepared food and bakery items. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the Alexandra Headland community.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing all baguettes sandwiches, quiches, ham & cheese croissants, almond croissants as well as basic prep like bechamel, caramelised onions...

2. Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

3. Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen

4. Supporting the bakery team during busy service period.

5. Following all food safety regulations and company protocols

6. Assisting with basic stock management and kitchen organisation

7. Communicating effectively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff

What we're looking for

1. Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen or bakery environment

2. Strong food hygiene and safety knowledge, with current Food Safety Certification

3. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines

4. Excellent attention to detail and consistency in food preparation

5. Good teamwork and communication skills

6. Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended period.

7. Preferred: Previous experience working in a bakery or French cuisine environment
