The Role
We are seeking a passionate and reliable Chef to join our catering team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a chef looking to move into a more structured, community-focused environment with stable hours and strong work–life balance.
You will contribute directly to the wellbeing and experience of our residents by delivering quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards, supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, and ensuring all food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed.
As part of the College community, you will also support key events and contribute to the life of the campus. Some morning or weekend shifts may be required.
Key Responsibilities
The person for this role will:
Prepare and deliver high-quality meals for approximately 300 residents, staff and guests
Support menu execution and maintain consistent food standards
Uphold food safety and HACCP compliance, including documentation
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation to commercial standards
Monitor stock levels, rotation, and storage practices
Support kitchen efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
Mentor junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands
Assist with catering for college events and functions
This role is 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, typically between 10:00am and 6:30pm, according to rostered shifts, with occasional flexibility required for morning or weekend events.

Essential
Qualification in Commercial Cookery
Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of HACCP and Food Safety principles
Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team
Ability to safely lift loads up to 10kg
A valid Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
Full Australian working rights at time of application
Desired
Experience in bulk catering or residential/college environments
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
Current driver's licence and own transport
