Kitchen Cook - Childcare centre - Adelaide CBD

We are looking for someone who loves to cook, bake and show children how to grow, harvest and make food. Our kitchen is part of the children's dining room enabling them to participate in food preparation and watch the magic of turning ingredients into delicious and healthy snacks. Children bring their own lunch from home fostering diversity in food choices and a lovely connection to home. The Kitchen Cook needs to plan 3 snack times a day for 70 children, which may include fruit platters, scones, scrolls, cheese and biscuits, toasties, vegetable soups, and pizza rolls, etc. The Kitchen manager will be responsible for grocery ordering, menu planning, dining room preparation, assisting in supervising children while eating, cleaning the dining room and kitchen, and implementing food safety standards. Knowledge of food allergens and safe food preparation and storage is essential.The person we are seeking will have a happy disposition, enjoy working with children, love cooking and have knowledge of food safe practices.

There is some flexibility in hours by negotiation. Ideally this person may have experience in a childcare setting although this is not a criteria.
