Casual Cook | Short-Term (2–3 Months)

White Sands Estate – Four Mile Creek, TAS

White Sands Estate is looking for an experienced and reliable Casual Cook to join our team in Four Mile Creek, TAS, for an immediate start.

This is initially a short-term position for approximately 2 to 3 months to cover a quieter period for the estate, with the potential for extension depending on operational requirements. The rostered days for this role are Wednesday through Sunday.

You will focus purely on food preparation, service, and maintaining an efficient kitchen. Because this role covers a defined seasonal block, there are no responsibilities for menu design, ordering, or administration.

This is a casual position offering onsite accommodation if required.

What you'll be doing:

  • Handling day-to-day food preparation, cooking, and quality control for our established menu.

  • Ensuring smooth, consistent service delivery during opening hours.

  • Maintaining strict compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

  • Ensuring the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas are kept clean, organized, and fully compliant.

  • Working collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure an excellent guest experience.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a commercial cook, line cook, or short-order cook.

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen hygiene standards.

  • A reliable, punctual, and self-motivated work ethic with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude.

  • Full working rights in Australia.

  • Valid food safety certification recognised in Australia.
