The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Banquet Chef to join a highly skilled kitchen team delivering exceptional wedding and event experiences. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in executing high-quality banquet service while supporting the daily operation of the kitchen.

This role will suit a chef with previous functions, events, or wedding experience who thrives in a structured environment where quality, presentation, and attention to detail are paramount.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and execution of wedding and event menus
• Deliver exceptional food quality and presentation across all services
• Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
• Maintain consistency and efficiency during high-volume banquet service
• Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen team members
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards are maintained
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen culture
• Work closely with the wider events team to deliver seamless guest experiences

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Banquet Chef, Function Chef, or experienced Chef de Partie within events, catering, or wedding venues
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
• Strong understanding of banquet and large-scale service operations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced and detail-driven environment
• Passion for quality produce and exceptional food presentation
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Flexibility to work weekends and event schedules as required
