Chef de Partie/ Junior Sous Chef, Jolley's Boathouse Restaurant

About the role

Jolleys Boathouse Restaurant is seeking a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team based in the heart of Adelaide. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the execution of our seasonally inspired menu and ensuring a consistently high standard of food preparation and presentation.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing, cooking and plating a wide variety of dishes to our exacting standards

2. Overseeing and supervising the day-to-day operations of your designated section of the kitchen

3. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment in line with food safety regulations

4. Providing guidance, training and mentoring to commis chefs and kitchen assistants

5. Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop new and innovative menu items

6. Adhering to portion controls, costs and waste management procedures

What we're looking for

1. At least 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a high-quality restaurant environment

2. Strong technical cooking skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure consistent and visually appealing plating

3. Excellent time management, multitasking and organisational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen

4. Passion for creating exceptional dishes using fresh, seasonal produce

5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the wider kitchen team

6. Food safety and hygiene certification. First Aid certificate desirable.
