About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our talented culinary team at Dyers Steak Stable in Ballarat, Victoria. As a full-time Chef, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional dining experiences that showcase our commitment to top quality beef and other locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our renowned hospitality establishment.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes using the freshest local produce

2. Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop innovative seasonal menus that delight our guests

3. Ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained in the kitchen

4. Participating in inventory management and ordering of kitchen supplies

5. Contributing to the overall smooth running and efficiency of the kitchen operation

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Chef in a high-quality restaurant or hospitality setting

2. Strong technical cooking skills and a passion for creating visually appealing, flavourful dishes

3. Must be self motivated and be able to work unsupervised with excellent time management & multitasking abilities

4. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to train and motivate a team

5. Have a can do attitude, reliable, trustworthy, be able to work with a close knit team

6. A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene

7. Creativity and a willingness to experiment with new ingredients and cooking techniques

8. Qualifications in Culinary Arts or equivalent industry experience

9. Minimum 3+ years experience in European cooking styles, particularly French cuisine

Highly Regarded:

Experience in The Saucier, Butchery & Grill sections of a fine dining or high-end commercial kitchen.
