You will be based in Schofields, NSW, 2762 and work both at the company site and on client sites in the surrounding area as required.Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 + superannuation <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements for ductwork and metal fittings.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Mark out dimensions and cut raw sheet metal stock to size using hand shears, power shears, guillotines, or power saws.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Shape and form sheet metal using folders, brakes, rollers and other fabrication machinery to produce ducting, flashings and fittings.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Set up and operate fabricating machines to punch, dimple, crimp, notch, bend and straighten sheet metal.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Join sheet metal sections and fittings by riveting, bolting, screwing, welding and soldering.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fit and install prefabricated ductwork, flashings and metal components on-site in accordance with plans and safety requirements.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Smooth rough edges and welded/soldered joints, and grind, file and buff repaired or fabricated areas.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Removing damaged sheet metal from existing products and performing repairs where required.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Inspect completed work for accuracy of fit, finish and compliance with specifications and Australian Standards.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Liaise with site supervisors, installation teams and other trades to coordinate ductwork installation on residential and commercial projects.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order and comply with workplace health and safety procedures. <h3>Qualification & experience</h3>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;At least one year experience as a Sheetmetal Worker or Fabricator in a similar position is strictly required.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or a similar qualification is desirable but not essential for applicants with additional experience as a Sheetmetal Worker or Fabricator.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, standards, and safe work practices.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to read and interpret sheet metal installation and fabrication plans and technical drawings.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Competent use of sheet metal fabrication and installation tools and equipment, with strong attention to detail and quality.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Current driver’s licence and reliable transport to get to and from job sites.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Physically fit.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strong communication skills and reliability are essential.
