At Blacks Transport, we run our own fleet. We want a good Diesel Mechanic who wants to do the job properly, be listened to, and go home feeling like the day was worth it.

The role

Based at our Park Ridge workshop, you’ll be working on our fleet of trucks and trailers – keeping them safe, reliable and on the road.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Servicing and maintaining trucks and trailers (scheduled and unscheduled work)

• Diagnosing faults – electrical, mechanical, braking, suspension

• Carrying out repairs to a safe, professional standard

• Completing inspection reports and job cards accurately

• Helping keep the workshop safe, tidy and organised

• Working with operations when something’s urgent – without being pushed to do it unsafe or half-done

You won’t be dealing with random retail jobs at a counter all day. It’s our gear, our standards, your trade.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified heavy vehicle technician / diesel fitter (or close to completing)

• Has solid experience as a diesel mechanic on trucks and/or trailers

• Understands the importance of WHS and fatigue management in transport

• Has good attention to detail – the kind that picks up an issue before it turns into a breakdown

• Can work in a small team, share information, and speak up if something doesn’t look right

• Takes pride in their work and wants to be taken seriously as a tradesperson
