Internal Sales Estimator – Laser Cutting & Sheet Metal Fabrication

We are a well-established and growing fabrication business specialising in laser cutting, CNC folding, and precision metal components for commercial, industrial, and manufacturing clients across Queensland.

We operate modern CNC laser cutting and press brake equipment and pride ourselves on delivering high-quality components with fast turnaround and reliable service.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Sales Estimator to join our busy estimating and sales team.

This role is ideal for someone who understands metal fabrication and is confident working with technical drawings and 3D CAD models. You will be responsible for quoting, interpreting customer requirements, and preparing manufacturable job packages.

A key part of this role includes the ability to create and modify parts using 3D CAD software when customer files are incomplete or require adjustment for manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations for laser cutting, folding, and fabrication jobs

• Interpret engineering drawings, DXF files, and 3D CAD models

• Create and modify parts using 3D CAD software (or similar)

• Work with customers to clarify specifications and design intent

• Liaise with workshop/production to confirm manufacturability

• Communicate pricing, lead times, and technical feedback to customers

• Manage inbound enquiries via phone and email

• Maintain quoting/ERP systems and follow up outstanding quotes

About You

• Experience in laser cutting, sheet metal fabrication, or estimating (essential)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files

• Competent using CAD software

• Understanding of materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

• Knowledge of bending allowances, fabrication processes, and cutting limitations

• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy

• Confident communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Hours of Work 

• Full-time Monday to Thursday, shorter hours on Fridays.

• Monday to Thursday - Hours: 6:30 am to 3:30 pm

• Friday - Hours: 6:30am to 10:30am 

• Must have rights to work in Australia 

Salary 

The position will be offered as a full-time position with an attractive wage package that will be negotiated based on experience.
