About the Role

We’re seeking a reliable, hands‑on Powder Coater with mechanical fitting experience to join our team. This role suits someone who enjoys variety — from preparing and coating metal components to assembling, maintaining, and fitting mechanical parts to support the build and assembly of Sphere Drones’ proprietary hardware, including HubX, HubT and custom projects. If you take pride in quality workmanship and like working in a practical, fast‑paced environment, you’ll fit right in.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Powder Coating

  • Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, sanding, masking, and blasting

  • Set up and operate powder coating equipment, spray guns, and curing ovens

  • Apply powder coatings accurately and consistently to meet specifications

  • Inspect finished products for quality, thickness, and finish

  • Maintain coating equipment and ensure a clean, safe work area

Mechanical Fitting

  • Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and hardware

  • Perform basic mechanical repairs, adjustments, and maintenance on equipment

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, job sheets, and assembly instructions

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and effectively

  • Assist with fabrication, jig setup, and production support when required

🧰 Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in powder coating

  • Mechanical fitting or assembly experience (trade qualification beneficial but not essential)

  • Strong understanding of surface preparation and coating techniques

  • Ability to read drawings and follow detailed instructions

  • Good problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude

  • Physically fit and comfortable handling metal components

  • Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (advantage)

💼 What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience.

  • Stable full-time role with opportunities for overtime.

  • Hands-on training alongside skilled welders, electricians, and engineers.

  • Direct involvement in building HubX, HubT, and other advanced drone systems.

  • Clear career growth pathways as the company scales.
