Experienced Mechanical Fitter | FIFO Mining + Workshop Role
Perth-Based with Fly-In Fly-Out Opportunities

Due to our continued expansion, we are looking for a reliable and skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team. This is a new position created to support our increasing workload across mining maintenance and workshop operations in Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors and fixed plant machinery

  • Perform mechanical fitting, assembly, disassembly, and precision repairs

  • Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance to high standards

  • Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals

  • Undertake machining, welding, and fabrication tasks as required

  • Participate in mining shutdowns and maintenance campaigns across Western Australia

  • Complete all work safely and in line with site and company procedures

Skills & Experience

  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ post-trade experience in mechanical maintenance and repair

  • Solid background in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industry (highly regarded)

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability

  • Practical experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Welding and machining skills are advantageous

  • Mature attitude with a strong focus on safety and quality

Requirements

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence

  • Ability to work FIFO rosters when required (mining sites)

  • Forklift, EWP, Scissor Lift and W@H (or willingness to obtain)

  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
