Diesel Fitters – Workshop & Field Technicians (Residential or FIFO | North QLD)

Are you a skilled Diesel Fitter ready for your next opportunity?

As SMH Equipment continues to expand and secure new partnerships across North Queensland, we are seeking proactive, reliable Diesel Fitters to join our growing team. We have opportunities based in Mount Isa, Townsville and the Cairns region, with the flexibility to offer Monday–Friday workshop roles, field service rosters or FIFO arrangements, depending on your location and preferences.

THE ROLE:

Residential or FIFO options available.
Perform servicing, diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on machinery in workshop or field settings.
Carry out dynamic/static testing and complete job documentation accurately.
Communicate with internal and external customers on job status and recommendations.
Provide technical support and identify improvement opportunities.
No underground.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter or equivalent.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Current Drivers Licence.
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement!
