The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.
We are proud to have recently joined Harmony Australasia. Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane. The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Mill Electrician to join our Processing Maintenance team at a major copper mining operation in New South Wales. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern mineral processing facility where reliability, teamwork, and continuous improvement are highly valued.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining the electrical integrity and performance of the concentrator and associated processing infrastructure, ensuring maximum plant availability and safe production outcomes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Mill Electrician, your responsibilities will include:
Performing preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance across the processing plant
Diagnosing and repairing faults on motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), switchgear, MCCs, PLCs, and instrumentation
Maintaining electrical systems associated with crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration, concentrate handling, and tailings operations
Supporting plant shutdowns, inspections, and project works
Conducting testing, commissioning, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation equipment
Assisting with reliability improvement initiatives and root cause investigations
Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with site safety standards, electrical regulations, and statutory requirements
Completing maintenance records and work orders through the site's maintenance management system
Collaborating closely with Operations, Mechanical Maintenance, and Engineering teams to optimise plant performance
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Electrical Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician).
Current NSW Electrical Licence
Previous experience within copper, gold, or base metals processing operations
Current Driver's Licence
Current LVR/CPR certification
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
Experience working in a concentrator or mineral processing environment
Experience with SAP, Pronto, or similar CMMS platforms
Understanding of reliability-centred maintenance principles
