About the business 

As our business continues to grow, Toddy’s Machinery Maintenance are looking to build our team with more Qualified Diesel Fitters with varying experience for an immediate start. We are a Local Cairns family-owned business, specialising in mining and civil mobile machinery repairs and maintenance on and off site since 2008. We pride ourselves on high quality work output in a safe and timely manner. 

We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, qualified diesel fitters with a good attitude for various projects throughout Queensland, Western Australia and Northern Territory. 

Current available positions: 

• Field service and workshop roles 

• 2:2 rosters FIFO and DIDO from Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane and more

• Options for combined working arrangements allowing you to spend time working locally and do FIFO or DIDO swings when available

About the roles

Field Service Positions 

Diesel Fitters will be supplied with a fully set up mine specification field service vehicle fully stocked with all the quality tooling you will need to do the job in a high-quality standard, safe and timely manner. 

Workshop Positions 

Diesel Fitters will be working on a range of large mobile mining machinery, carrying out machine midlives and full life rebuilds to the highest quality standard.

FIFO and DIDO

Diesel Fitters will be working on site on a regular roster.  

Combined Working Arrangement

Diesel Fitters will work a combination of the above positions. Giving them flexibility to perform work around the Cairns local area, DIDO work on roster or ADHOC and FIFO work when available.

Skills and experience 

Requirements for position 

• Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or equivalent 

• Heavy Equipment experience essential

• Excellent communication skills 

• Have a good safety record 

• HR Driver's licence and forklift licence is an advantage
