The Opportunity

MacKellar is continuing its partnership with Aeris Resources through the exciting new Constellation Project, located near Nyngan, NSW.
As operations expand, we’re seeking an experienced Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our maintenance team on a 7/7 rotating day and night roster.

This is an opportunity to step into a key leadership role on a new mining project, working with a team committed to safety, reliability, and high-quality maintenance outcomes.

About the Role
You will provide hands-on leadership to the maintenance crew while ensuring safe and efficient maintenance activities across the fleet.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and supporting a team of Diesel Fitters and Service Personnel
  • Coordinating planned and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults
  • Ensuring maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop
  • Maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards

About You
  • Relevant Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Trade Qualification
  • Previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role within mining
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced mining environment
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship
  • Current Driver’s Licence
