Dewatering Technician Poly Welder

This is a rolling 2:1 roster- 3-6 months with potential to run for 12+ months for the right candidate. Carrying out dewatering, poly-pipe welding and pipeline works on a well-established gold mine site.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Welding HDPE, stringing pipe, and loading welding machines
• Flushing and hydrotesting
• Trenching and general earthworks
• Dewatering, including bore pump installs, wellpoint/spearpoint systems, and submersible pump setups
• Installing and managing discharge lines and monitoring drawdown/water levels
• Working independently and leading small crews
• Reading and interpreting HDPE and civil construction drawings

  
Essential:

• Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience in HDPE butt fusion and electrofusion welding on mining or construction sites
• Minimum 2 years' experience operating Polywelding equipment - (McElroy - T618, T500, T900 and Dixon welder)
• Minimum 1 year operating machinery on site
• Experience conducting HDPE hydrotesting
• Experience with both Dixon and McElroy
• Polywelding certificate (Butt Weld & Electrofusion or Extrusion welding) issued within the last 2 yrs

• C Class driver's licence
• Excavator
• Poly Welding Tickets (Butt Fusion / Electro Fusion within the last 2 yrs)
• Rigging
• Chainsaw
• Dogging
• Telehandler (minimum)

A successful applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screen, and currently reside in Australia with full working rights.
