Power Station Operator - Mechanical

The Role

The Power Station Operator is responsible for day-to-day monitoring, operating, maintenance, and repair of power generation equipment at various customer sites. This role requires a highly skilled and safety-conscious individual with excellent mechanical technical knowledge of power generation equipment and systems.

8:6 or 15:13 roster available

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures and promote a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
• Repair and maintain power generation equipment at customer sites, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and equipment is fully operational.
• Conduct preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance of power generation equipment, including troubleshooting and diagnosing.
• Respond to emergency repair calls and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal downtime for the customer.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, including parts used, labour hours, and expenses, and provide detailed reports to the Power Station Manager.
• Maintain a high level of client satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service and communicating effectively with customers to ensure their needs are met.
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

About You:

• Relevant Mechanical Trade certification.
• Working with power generation equipment experiences preferable
• Heavy Diesel Mechanical exposure advantageous
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety.
