Your impact

As Supervisor - Process Maintenance Mechanical (Wet Plant), you will lead mechanical asset management and maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost‑effective performance of wet plant assets. Your contribution will directly support production targets, asset integrity, and Newmont's commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Based within Operations - Asset Management, this people‑leader role works closely with operations, engineering, and site leadership in a fast‑paced environment, supported by strong systems, experienced leaders, and a culture that values accountability and teamwork.

Profile description:

As part of our team you will

• Supervise mechanical asset management and maintenance activities across the wet plant, ensuring optimal asset performance and availability
• Provide leadership and direction to planned maintenance and breakdown crews, ensuring safe, timely, and effective response to unplanned plant events
• Assist in the development and execution of asset management plans, schedules, and budgets
• Coordinate asset management programs in line with operational priorities and production requirements
• Ensure compliance with Newmont management systems, statutory obligations, and safety standards
• Support the resolution of short‑term breakdown events and long‑term asset management priorities aligned to production goals
• Assist with cost control, forecasting, and expenditure tracking within the maintenance function
• Analyse asset performance data, including breakdown trends, to improve utilisation, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness
• Prepare and deliver reports on asset performance, breakdowns, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership
• Ensure QA/QC standards are met and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented
• Lead, coach, and allocate work to team members, reviewing performance and recognising positive contributions
• Ensure team compliance with systems, processes, and safe work practices, stopping unsafe work when required
• Identify, assess, and manage risks through effective mitigation strategies and ongoing monitoring

Prerequisites for your success in the role

• Formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant mechanical trade discipline
• Strong experience supervising process maintenance mechanical teams, preferably within a wet plant or processing environment including - Milling, Flotation, Thickening, Filtering, Reagents, Carbon in Leach Circuit, Carbon Regeneration, Elution, Wet Screening, Residue Disposal, Water Services
• Demonstrated knowledge of asset management best practices, maintenance strategies, and reliability principles
• Experience working within mining or heavy industrial operations
• Strong understanding of statutory legislation, safety compliance, risk management and individuals must have at least two years of relevant experience, successfully complete the approved WHS risk management units (i.e. BSBWHS411 and BSBWHS414), and pass an applicable legislation examination administered by WorkSafe for a statutory Supervisor
• Proven capability in budget support, cost control, and asset performance analysis
• Competence in data analysis, reporting, and QA/QC, with a continuous improvement mindset
• Experience managing contractors and vendors in a maintenance or asset management setting
• Ability to follow structured systems while applying practical judgement to resolve asset, safety, and operational challenges
• Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to engage, coach, and build productive teams
• Clear communication and collaboration skills across operations, engineering, HSE, and leadership teams
