Drill Fitter Mobile Plant Mechanic

We are currently looking for motivated, trade qualified Field Service Drill Fitters / Plant Mechanics to work on a FIFO basis from Perth. 

Applicants should be able to work autonomously in remote areas servicing Drill Rigs and associated plant. Consideration will also be given to those with appropriate competence that have not worked on a FIFO basis but would like to gain experience in the Mining / Drilling Industry.

The role: 

• Attend breakdowns across multiple mine sites and operations;

• Diagnostic fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and air systems;

• Diagnosis and repair on late model 8 x 8 trucks using computerised diagnostic equipment; 

• Major repairs and servicing of drilling and support equipment;

• Ensure equipment is maintained safely and timely to minimise cost and increase productivity;

• Plant and equipment inspections;

• Providing technical guidance & field service support to operations staff and drill crews;

• Effective management of documentation and reporting. 

What you'll need:  

• Solid background working with heavy industrial and/or mining equipment; 

• Typically, competence gained via 5 years' post apprentice experience in a heavy industrial setting;

• Demonstrable high-level diagnostic and fault-finding ability; 

• Proven ability to work safely within a mature safety focused organisation;

• Strong personal organisational and interpersonal skills;

• Computer literacy;

• HR license.
