Painters & Blasters – Fixed Plant Maintenance & Shutdowns (WA)

Premier People are working with WA’s leading engineering and mining contractors within fixed plant maintenance and shutdown operations. We are currently seeking experienced Painters & Blasters for ongoing and upcoming works across multiple sites throughout Western Australia.

Roles will involve surface preparation and protective coating works across fixed plant environments including crushers, conveyors, structural steel, chutes, tanks, bins, handrails and associated infrastructure. Scope of work will vary depending on site and client requirements, with opportunities at FMG Anderson Point. 

Scope of Work May Include:

• Abrasive blasting and surface preparation
• Protective coatings and industrial painting applications
• Structural steel and fixed plant coating works
• Shutdown and maintenance repainting
• Corrosion protection and remedial works
• Use of airless spray, brush and roller systems

Essential Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience as an industrial Painter & Blaster
• Experience working within fixed plant, mining or heavy industrial environments
• Knowledge of protective coating systems and specifications
• Strong safety focus and team-based approach
• Working at Heights (within 2 years)
• Confined Spaces (within 2 years)
• Gas Testing Atmospheres (within 2 years)
• Basic Fire (within 2 years)
• White Card – physical card (not certificate)
• Current driver’s licence
• Full Australian working rights – no visa limitations

Preferred:

• Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application
• Experience on Tier 1 WA mining sites
• MSIC
• HRWL (EWP, LF or other relevant tickets)
