Field Service Technician | Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Pilbara & Goldfields | 2:1 or 12:9 Roster | Permanent Roles

BTP, part of the Perenti Group, is seeking experienced Field Service Technicians and Heavy Diesel Mechanics to support major mining operations across the Pilbara and Goldfields.

These are permanent positions offering high industry rates, 12% superannuation on all hours worked, and flexible FIFO or DIDO options from WA.

If you have strong experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu or Hitachi mining equipment and enjoy working autonomously in field service environments, we want to hear from you.

The Role

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Breakdown diagnostics and fault finding
  • Repair and maintenance of heavy mining equipment
  • Preventative maintenance inspections
  • Major component change outs
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic and drivetrain repairs
  • Ensuring fleet reliability and compliance with safety standards

Work across mobile mining fleets in both field service and workshop environments on live production sites.

Essential Requirements

  • Australian recognised Heavy Duty Trade Qualification
  • Demonstrated experience on CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi mining equipment
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and powertrain systems
  • Valid Australian Driver Licence - HR essential
  • Ability to pass site medical, DAS and National Police Clearance
  • Dogging Licence
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space
