Irizar Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced Vehicle Body Builder to join our high performing production team on a full-time basis at our modern, purpose-built facility in Pakenham. Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll play a key role in building, fitting and finishing high-floor buses and luxury coaches to Irizar's high quality standards that exceeds customers' expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Building and fitting bus and coach body components in line with drawings, work instructions and specifications

  • Carrying out structural and cosmetic work including framing, panelling, cladding and interior fit‑out

  • Using hand and power tools, welding and basic fabrication equipment for body construction

  • Assisting with installation and fitting of interior components such as seats, trim, doors and glazing

  • Checking work against quality standards and rectifying basic defects identified during inspections

  • Following workplace health and safety procedures and using personal protective equipment

  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area and handling materials safely

  • Carrying out other vehicle body building duties as reasonably required

Skills, experience & qualifications

  • Trade qualification in Vehicle Body Building / Bus & Coach Building / Automotive Body Building, or equivalent experience in a similar role

  • Previous experience working on buses, coaches, trucks or similar large vehicles is highly regarded

  • Minimum 12 months of relevant work experience

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work instructions

  • Competent use of hand and power tools and workshop equipment

  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices in a workshop environment

  • Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team

  • Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks associated with the role

Hours, salary & conditions

  • Full‑time position based at our Pakenham facility

  • Standard hours Monday to Friday, with reasonable overtime as required to meet production schedules

  • Salary: $82,000 per annum plus superannuation, in line with skills, experience and applicable industrial instruments
