About the role:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hands-on individual to join our Maintenance team as a Mechanical Apprentice.

This is a great opportunity to build a long-term career while working alongside qualified Mechanical tradespersons in a highly specialised and secure manufacturing environment.

You will be required to attend trade school at Kangan TAFE, Broadmeadows as required to complete your units and assessments.

As part of this role, you will complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.

The ideal candidate will have completed VCE (Year 12 equivalent) and a Pre-Apprenticeship in Engineering (Certificate II in Engineering Studies).

Over the course of your apprenticeship, your key responsibilities will grow as your skills and knowledge develop. Your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Assist qualified tradespersons with breakdown response and maintenance activities

  • Complete allocated tasks under supervision, including preparation of tools and materials

  • Support job preparation and close-out activities, including basic measurements and job documentation (MEX)

  • Participate in planned maintenance and machine servicing activities

  • Assist with spare parts handling and maintenance planning processes

  • Contribute to installation, modification, and improvement works as directed

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment

  • Comply with all safety, quality, and security procedures (including PPE and isolation practices)

  • Complete all apprenticeship requirements (TAFE and on-the-job training)

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and security
