Position Title: Plumber, Water Infrastructure & Pipeline Works
Roster: 15 days on / 13 days off
Location: FIFO from Perth to Warburton & surrounding Ngaanyatjarra communities (WA)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plumber with strong pipeline and water mains experience to join our Essential Services team, working across Warburton and surrounding remote communities in Western Australia on a 15/13 roster.

This role is responsible for the upgrade, renewal, and maintenance of water mains and pipeline infrastructure, along with responding to emergency leaks and bursts to ensure the safe and reliable supply of potable water from bore field to property meter.

Reporting to the Water Manager, you will work alongside a Trades Assistant and be provided with a fully equipped ute, enabling you to work autonomously across the region.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone experienced in pipeline installation, pumped systems, and water network operations, across both sewer and potable water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance, and upgrade of water mains and pipeline infrastructure

  • Responding to leaks, bursts, and faults across the town water network

  • Pipe laying, jointing, and repairs (PVC, HDPE, copper, etc.)

  • Installation, servicing, and replacement of water meters

  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, and change-out of pumps and pumped systems

  • Supporting water infrastructure upgrade and renewal projects

  • Attending pump outages and system failures

  • Operating plant and equipment for excavation and pipework

  • Accurate reporting of work completed, materials used, and asset condition

  • Ensuring compliance with safety and SHQE requirements

About You

You are a trade-qualified Plumber with demonstrated experience in pipeline construction, water mains, and pumped water systems, capable of working independently in remote environments.

You are practical, safety-focused, and adaptable, with strong troubleshooting ability and a commitment to delivering reliable infrastructure outcomes in challenging conditions.

This role is ideal for someone looking to work in large-scale water infrastructure and essential services work.

Skills & Experience

  • Australian recognised Plumbing Trade Qualification

  • Proven experience in pipeline installation, water mains, or civil water infrastructure

  • Experience with pumped systems, pump maintenance, and change-outs

  • Experience with water meter installation, servicing, and fault finding

  • Strong knowledge of water supply systems and pipework

  • Ability to read plans and deliver infrastructure upgrades

  • Current driver’s licence (HR desirable)

  • Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Excavator, Skid Steer, or other plant tickets

  • Backflow Testing

  • Experience welding copper (DN20–DN100mm)

  • Forklift licence

  • HR / High Risk tickets

  • Crane or Hiab ticket

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Experience operating jetting equipment (Jetter/K1500)
