About the role

Join the skilled team at Shipwrights Qld' as a Boat Builder. This full-time position is based in Thornlands, QLD and offers the opportunity to showcase your expertise in the trades and services industry.

What you'll be doing

1. Construct and maintain a variety of boats, yachts and other marine vessels

2. Working mainly on Fibreglass and timber vessels from 20 ft to 55 ft

3. Structural repairs, composite manufacture, timber fit outs, resprays

4. Collaborate with the wider team to ensure high-quality, seaworthy vessels are delivered on time

5. Identify and rectify any issues or defects during the build process

6. Maintain a safe and organised work environment

What we're looking for

1. Demonstrated experience as a qualified Boat Builder, with a strong background in trades and services

2. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical plans, drawings and specifications

3. Skilled in the use of a variety of power tools, machinery and equipment common to the boat building industry

4. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality, safe outcomes

5. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

6. Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
