ISEC Security is seeking a professional and personable Security Officer to join our team at a prestigious Art Gallery in Canberra. This role will include Asset Protection, Patrolling as well as Crowd Control during Functions & Events.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of protecting culturally significant assets while delivering a welcoming and engaging visitor experience. You will play a key role in safeguarding artwork, supporting public programs and maintaining a calm, secure gallery environment.

The Role

·       Protect nationally and internationally significant artworks and exhibitions

·       Provide a welcoming and professional presence for visitors and VIP guests

·       Monitor gallery spaces to ensure artwork safety and visitor compliance

·       Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies

·       Support exhibition openings and special events (including licensed events)

You will work across a 7-day rotating roster in a refined, public-facing environment.

Essential Requirements

·       Current ACT Security Licence

·       Government Baseline Clearance or the ability to successfully obtain approval

·       Current First Aid Certificate

·       Current Working with Children Check

·       Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate

·       Strong customer service, communication and conflict resolution skills

·       Impeccable grooming and presentation

·       Ability to work flexibly across a rotating roster

Highly Regarded

·       Experience in museums, galleries, cultural institutions or premium public venues
