Task & responsibilities

Responsibility

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, processing, and presenting meat products for retail sale, operating meat processing equipment, and assisting in the production of quality smallgoods while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.

Duties

•    Preparing meat products for retail sale by boning, trimming, slicing, mincing, and portioning meat according to specifications and customer requirements

•    Producing marinated, seasoned, and value-added meat products

•    Selecting and preparing meat for smallgoods production

•    Operating meat processing equipment including grinders, mincers, mixers, and tenderising machines

•    Preparing seasoning blends, marinades, and curing mixtures

•    Using sausage fillers, smoking equipment, cooking kettles, and related machinery where required

•    Providing customers with advice regarding meat selection, preparation, and cooking methods

•    Assisting with stock control, production planning, and estimating product quantities as required

Qualification & experience

Qualifications

•    AQF Certificate III with at least two years of relevant on-the-job training; or

•    AQF Certificate IV relevant to the occupation (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

Experience

•    At least three years of relevant experience
