7/7 Roster | Permanent Full Time | Residential position based in Broken Hill NSW

Broken Hill Mines is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Underground Electrical Tradesperson to join our Electrical Maintenance team on a residential 7/7 roster.

About the Role

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will work closely with the Electrical Maintenance team to install, maintain and repair surface, underground and processing plant electrical equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly and to a high standard.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining electrical infrastructure that supports continuous mining and processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair surface, underground and processing plant electrical equipment

• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and corrective maintenance on electrical systems

• Maintain electrical infrastructure in line with site, statutory and legislative requirements

• Complete all work to a high standard with strong attention to detail

• Actively participate in safety meetings, risk assessments and safe work procedures

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

• Work collaboratively within the Electrical Maintenance team and across departments

• Provide a high level of service and support to operational stakeholders

About You

• Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification or Certificate of Proficiency

• High Voltage Electrical Operator training (highly regarded)

• The ability to understand and interpret all types of electrical drawings and schematics

• Underground mining electrical experience, including installation, maintenance and repair of underground infrastructure (advantageous)

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability

• High standard of workmanship and attention to detail

• A positive and proactive attitude toward safety, both individually and within a team environment

About Broken Hill Mines

The Rasp Mine is an operating silver-lead-zinc mine in Broken Hill, with a large Mineral Resource and a 750,000tpa processing plant. The mine has operated for over 120 years, producing zinc and lead concentrates sold globally. The Pinnacles Mine, situated 15km southwest of Broken Hill, is known for containing one of the area's highest-grade and shallowest silver-zinc-lead deposits. Despite being largely undeveloped, small-scale historical mining has occurred over the past 120 years. Broken Hill Mines has recently acquired the Rasp Mine and secured a Joint Venture option for the Pinnacles Mine to consolidate the two operations and create a leading and long-term base metals operation.
