Senior Diesel Mechanic – Power Generation

The Company

CD Power is a South Australian owned and operated OEM manufacturer and supplier of power generation, battery energy storage, and remote energy solutions.

We design, build, install and maintain reliable power systems that operate in some of Australia's harshest environments. Our customers span the oil & gas, mining, utilities, agriculture, government and commercial sectors.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, we are seeking an experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role working across generator servicing, major overhauls, fault finding, commissioning and field support on diesel and gas-powered generation equipment.

The successful applicant will become a key member of our service team, supporting customers across South Australia while working on a wide range of power generation and remote energy projects.

A minimum of 3 years' post-trade diesel mechanic experience is required, with power generation or stationary engine experience highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair diesel generators, possibility for gas powered units also

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults and engine performance issues

  • Perform major engine repairs, overhauls and component replacements

  • Complete workshop and field service work

  • Assist with commissioning and testing of power generation systems

  • Provide technical support and mentoring to junior technicians and apprentices

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting

  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

Experience Highly Regarded

  • Stationary diesel and gas engines

  • Power generation systems

  • Hydraulics and compressors

  • Remote power stations

  • Engine brands including Cummins, Perkins, Deutz, Volvo, CAT, MTU and Scania

About You

  • Certificate III or IV in Diesel Mechanics or equivalent trade qualification

  • Current Australian Driver's License

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Willingness to travel for remote and interstate assignments

Applicants with electrical experience or an interest in completing an electrical apprenticeship to obtain a dual trade qualification are encouraged to apply.
