Your Key Duties & Responsibilities will be:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements of the project.

  • Selecting and preparing the appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for the fabrication and welding processes.

  • Dressing, Cutting, shaping, and forming metal components using various techniques such as bending, Grinding and drilling.

  • Operating welding equipment and performing various welding techniques (such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding) to join metal parts together according to specifications.

  • Ensuring the quality and accuracy of the fabricated components or structures by inspecting and measuring them against the provided specifications.

  • Conducting repairs or modifications to existing metal structures or components as needed.

  • Following safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.

  • Collaborating with Managers, designers, or other team members to discuss project requirements, resolve issues, and ensure the successful completion of the project.

  • Maintaining and cleaning welding equipment and tools to ensure their proper functioning.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current forklift license (LF)

  • Experience in both structural and precision sheet metal work is essential

  • Minimum 3-5 years of sheet metal and welding experience required

  • Trade certificate in welding or related field required

  • An ability to read & understand technical drawings

  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
