Qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic

We are seeking a qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic to join our team. This role is suited to qualified technicians who have experience working on commercial construction sites and the installation of VRV systems and refrigerant pipework. They will also have the ability to work independently while continuing to develop their technical and job management skills.

About the role

You will be responsible for the installation of HVAC systems across a variety of projects. The successful applicant will be trusted to work independently on most jobs, supervise apprentices, and represent BRS professionally on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete installations to company standards

• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction drawings

• Work safely and efficiently without supervision

• Complete timesheets, reports, and required paperwork accurately

• Communicate professionally with customers, builders, site supervisors, and other trades

• Supervise and mentor apprentices

• Manage daily workload and job planning where required

• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional condition

• Assist with material management and ordering as needed

• Work efficiently and effectively with other BRS team members

Essential requirements:

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

• Experience working on commercial projects with VRV and refrigeration pipework

• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence

• Current drivers licence

• Asbestos awareness and Working with Asbestos training

• Silica Awareness training

• Construction white card

• Ability to work independently

• Strong communication and customer engagement skills

• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Highly regarded:

• Experience running jobs independently

• Experience supervising apprentices

• Commercial HVAC experience

• Industry experience
