BioKem Oil Services is looking for a motivated Entry Level Mechanical Workshop Technician to join our team in Capalaba. This is a hands-on role suited to someone mechanically minded who enjoys working with tools, equipment, cars, bikes, engines, or anything mechanical.
You don’t need to be a qualified tradesperson or apprentice — we’re more interested in attitude, reliability, and practical mechanical ability. If you enjoy pulling things apart, fixing problems, and learning new skills, we’d like to hear from you.
You’ll work alongside experienced, fitters, mechanics and technicians supporting workshop operations, maintaining equipment, preparing gear for site work, and assisting with filtration services.
Assist with servicing, maintenance, and repairs on BioKem equipment
Help prepare equipment for mobilisation, hire, and field deployment
Support workshop testing and equipment setup
Assist with filtration and cleaning operations in the depot
Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation
Assist with stock handling, deliveries, and general depot duties
Learn safe operating procedures and workshop practices
Operate forklifts and workshop equipment (training provided if required)
Complete basic service records and maintenance documentation
Strong mechanical interest and practical hands-on skills
Experience working on cars, motorbikes, small engines, or mechanical equipment
Reliable and willing to learn
Good attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work as part of a small team
Current Driver’s Licence
Basic computer skills
Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
Enjoys working with tools and mechanical equipment
Likes fixing, building, or modifying things in their spare time
Wants to build a long-term career in a technical industry
Prefers practical hands-on work over sitting in an office
Is dependable, respectful, and eager to learn
Stable full-time local role
