The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated tradesman to join our growing team in a Leading Hand – Mechanical Allrounder role supporting our fuel industry operations and projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on environments, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering quality work safely and efficiently.
You’ll work across fuel infrastructure maintenance, mechanical works, shutdowns, and project delivery activities across a range of industrial and critical infrastructure sites.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude, fuel industry experience and the ability to lead from the front both in the workshop and out in the field when required.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day coordination and operation of the workshop while also supporting fuel industry maintenance, shutdown and project works across a variety of sites. Additional duties include:
Day-to-day workshop coordination and housekeeping
Leading and supporting workshop personnel and field crews
Preparation, maintenance and mobilisation of equipment and materials
Fuel industry maintenance and project works
Assisting with scheduling and job preparation
Ensuring works are completed safely and to a high standard
Supporting compliance with company WHS systems and procedures
Occasional site travel and field supervision as required
Liaise with supervisors, clients, and subcontractors professionally
Complete site documentation, permits, and reporting requirements
About You
You are someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and gets the job done properly without cutting corners.
Ideally, you will have:
Mechanical/Plumbing trade background or strong mechanical experience
Previous experience with structural steel or pipe welding
Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience
Strong understanding of safety and compliance requirements
Previous fuel industry or fuel handling experience highly regarded
Ability to problem solve and adapt onsite
High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Forklift, confined space, working at heights or MSIC tickets highly regarded
Construction White Card
Current driver’s licence
Ability to travel and work remotely when required
Understanding of Hydraulics & Flange Management processes
