As the primary supplier of penstocks and steel linings for Snowy 2.0, we combine global expertise with local capability, maintaining direct control over fabrication while maximising on‑site manufacturing and preassembly operations.

The Vacancies

ATB Australia has multiple roles available for experienced steel liner welders for its pipeline of projects commencing in September 2026.

Candidates must be proficient in the FCAW process and able to work in accordance with qualified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

The roles available are nationwide and offered on a 14:7 FIFO Roster and will include works above and below ground.

Successful candidates require the following qualifications, skills and experience.

• Qualified welders in FCAW process with 5-10 years’ experience in the Welding Industry

• Ability to interpret WPS’s and operate welding equipment, penstock and pressure vessels

• Prior fabrication manufacturing experience

• Experience with P690 Steel

• Works include welding preparation of steel lining components with large diameter and high thickness

• Welders must be skilled in welding joints in all positions (flat, vertical, uphill and overhead)

• Fitter and boilermaker experience with the materials described is highly desirable
