Blantyre Farms is a family-owned mixed farming business spanning over 7,000 hectares across the Young, Harden and Cootamundra districts. We run a highly productive and professionally managed operation focused on Merino sheep, Angus cattle and broadacre dryland cropping (wheat and canola), supported by modern, GPS-guided machinery and structured production systems.

We are seeking a capable, motivated Farm Mechanic to join our team in a permanent, full-time role based near Young in NSW. Immediate start available.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of a modern fleet of agricultural machinery and supporting infrastructure across the business. This role is central to keeping our operation running efficiently and reliably. You

Machinery Maintenance & Repairs

• Servicing and maintaining tractors, headers, sprayers, trucks and farm machinery
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently and safely
• Managing preventative maintenance schedules across the fleet
• Welding, fabrication and general workshop repairs

Cropping & Operational Support

• Supporting machinery setup and operation during sowing, spraying and harvest
• Assisting with machinery logistics and breakdown support during peak periods
• Working alongside operators to improve machinery performance and reliability

Workshop & Infrastructure

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
• Managing parts, consumables and maintenance records
• Supporting repairs and improvements to farm infrastructure and equipment
• Helping improve and maintain a well-run operation

Who Will Thrive Here?

• Have solid mechanical experience, ideally within agriculture or heavy diesel
• Are confident diagnosing and repairing modern farm machinery
• Are practical, organised, reliable and straight-up
• Can work independently and manage your workload effectively

• Are willing to be hands-on and contribute across the broader farming operation when required

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical experience, qualifications a bonus
• Driver's licence (truck licence advantageous)
• Experience with GPS-guided and precision agriculture systems
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
