At Lumos Bakery, weāre known for our inventive pastries and Sourdough (hello, Brownie Bombs), quality sourdoughs, and a light-filled space that draws locals from all over Melbourne. Weāre passionate about precision, creativity, and building a great experienceāon the plate and behind the counter.
Weāre now looking for a Lead Pastry Chef to join our small, tight-knit team and take a lead role in our pastry kitchen.
As our full-time Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for:
Laminating doughs to a high, consistent standard (croissants, pain au choc, twists, and more)
Sourdough, developing and producing sourdough and different types of bread
Developing creative weekend specials and seasonal offerings
Maintaining product quality and consistency across all pastry lines
Working closely with the baker, kitchen team and FOH to coordinate daily production
Ordering dry goods and kitchen supplies, managing stock rotation and storage
Ensuring kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards
Minimum 2 years pastry experience in a similar artisan bakery or patisserie setting
Confidence with laminated doughs and viennoiserie production
A strong creative eye for product development
Ability to work independently and lead morning prep when needed
A collaborative, team-focused approachāweāre a small crew that supports each other
