The Opportunity

CDC NSW (Forest Coach Lines) is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team based at our Woolgoogla Depot.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this permanent, full-time position is responsible for carry out maintenance and repair services on our fleet to ensure our vehicles are safe, reliable and efficient.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Undertaking daily vehicle repair, diagnostics and maintenance activities to ensure delivery of services.

  • Fulfilling vehicle preventative maintenance schedules and requirements.

  • Maintaining vehicle monitoring and reporting systems.

  • Utilising diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and resolve vehicle issues accurately.

  • Responding to, investigating and repairing vehicle defects as notified by drivers.

  • Being available for breakdown and service callouts and on-road incidents as required from time to time.

  • Participating in the on-call rotating roster.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic and currently hold or able to obtain a Tradesperson Certificate (Motor Vehicle) from Fair Trading

  • Demonstrated experience working on heavy vehicles with experience with buses being highly regarded

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in safe and considered manner

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and in accordance with policies and procedures

Candidate's with a HR Driver Licence or Forklift ticket or auto-electrical experience would be highly regarded.

For the right candidate we are willing to accept a 4th year apprentice or recently trade qualified person.
