Grays Fences & Gates is a premium fencing and gate business based in Moolap, servicing Geelong, the Bellarine and Surf Coast. We're a small team that's growing quickly and looking for the right tradesperson to join us full-time.

Customers choose us because we communicate well, show up when we say we will, and deliver work we're proud to put our name on. The same standard applies to the people we hire.

The Work

This isn't boundary paling fences day after day.

Our projects include:

Feature entry fences and front gates
Automated gate systems
Colourbond fencing
Aluminium slat and architectural fencing
Light commercial projects including schools, childcare centres and aged care facilities

Feature front fence projects come with design drawings before installation starts. Jobs are planned properly, materials are organised, and you'll know exactly what you're building before you arrive on site.

Two of our installers are qualified carpenters, and many of the skills that make a great carpenter translate directly into producing high-quality fencing and gate projects.

The Team

You'll work closely with our Site Supervisor, Sam.

Sam is a qualified carpenter who came from a large commercial construction company and now oversees quality, scheduling and project delivery across the business.

If you're coming from outside the fencing industry, you won't be left to figure things out alone. Sam enjoys mentoring good people and helping them get up to speed quickly.

We don't have a culture of long hours, big egos or "that's how we've always done it".

If you have a better idea, we'll listen.

If a new product, system or technique improves the outcome for customers, we'll explore it.

Where We're Headed

Demand is currently outpacing our capacity.

The person who joins won't be standing around waiting for responsibility. Within a short period you'll be running your own projects, with support and oversight from Sam.

The plan is to double the team over the next 12 months.

We're building a showroom at our Moolap yard, investing in training with suppliers and continually improving our systems and processes.

$80,000–$100,000 + super

What We're Looking For

Qualified carpenter, experienced landscaper or solid fence installer
Pride in workmanship and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Reliable, organised and willing to follow a system
Driver's licence essential
White Card preferred
White Card must be obtained within 30 days of commencement if not already held
Australian permanent residency required
