About the role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter/Joiner to join our team at Finesse Sash Window Repairs' on a contract basis that could lead to a full time role for the right person. This role is responsible for carrying out high-quality joinery and repair works on timber windows across Sydney and also working in our joinery shop.

As a Carpenter/Joiner, you will be an integral part of our skilled trades team, contributing to the successful delivery of restoration and repair projects for our valued clients. Previous experience with timber windows would be preferred but not essential. Training can be provided. Joinery workshop experience would be highly regarded as occasionally works may needed to be done in the workshop to manufacture new timber windows and replacement timber sashes.

What you'll be doing

  • Undertake skilled carpentry and joinery work to repair and restore timber windows

  • Assess the condition of timber windows and provide recommendations for necessary repairs

  • Fabricate and install new window components as required

  • Ability to be able to remove existing glass from timber sashes and install new glass using putty glazing or timber beading. This skill is preferred but not essential.

  • Installing new draught and acoustic beading to existing timber windows

  • Collaborate with the wider project team to ensure exceptional customer service and timely project completion

  • Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols

  • Working in our joinery shop helping to manufacture new custom made windows and window components

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified Carpenter/Joiner, preferably with exposure to heritage or sash window restoration work.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve technical challenges

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality workmanship and attention to detail

  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and the project team.

  • Preferrable joinery workshop experience

  • Be able to work solo or part of the team when required.

  • Current driver's licence and ability to travel to job sites across Sydney

  • Own ABN and insurance, but may consider wages for the right candidate
