Mig Welder with Sheetmetal manufacturing skills

Associated Metalworks is a 3rd generation family business, established in 1946. We specialise in metal manufacturing, supplying shop fitting components, and custom prototypes to companies. We also offer a range of decorative panels and other metal garden features, with regular development of new products. We are a small business, offering a supportive community feel, and require staff to be flexible to adapt and assist in completion of urgent projects as required.

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable person for a full time welding position,  The successful applicant will need to be experienced with mig welding, and be able to work both collaboratively and independently. While welding will be your primary role, operating and learning how to operate laser cutting machine, turret punch press, brake press machines, cold saws, drill presses etc. will be required.

This is a Full time position, with pay between $40-$50 per hour, negotiable with the right candidate. As a Full time position, the hours will be: Monday to Thursday 6am to 2:30pm, and 6am to 12:30pm Friday

To be suitable for this role you must have; 

• Minimum 4 years experience in mig welding. 

• Need to have experience welding 2mm thick material.

• Good attention to detail and experience dealing with measurements accurately.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• The ability to work independently while maintaining productivity. 

• The ability to work in a fast passed environment.

• Be reliably able to get yourself to work as required and on time. 

• Be happy to lend a hand in other areas of the business when required.

• Be physically fit and able to complete manual handling duties. 

• Be willing to work paid overtime at times, as required.

The following are advantageous but not required;

• Be available for immediate start. 

• A forklift licence 

• Any experience on other metal manufacturing machinery, e.g. laser cutters, brake press or turret punch operation experience.
