An established and reputable engineering firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead crews during a 70-day Power Station outage commencing 16th July through until mid September.
This is a major outage project with consistent hours, strong rates, and structured project delivery.
Monday to Friday – 12-hour shifts
Saturday – 8-hour shifts
Accommodation provided
You will be responsible for supervising mechanical crews across fixed plant equipment within a Power Station environment.
Shutdown scope includes:
Chute Replacements
Chain Feeder, Sizer and Crusher Overhauls
General Maintenace
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading daily pre-starts and shutdown briefings
Supervising boilermakers, fitters, and support crews
Coordinating labour, EWPs, rigging, and resources
Interpreting drawings and shutdown scopes
Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to schedule
Liaising with planners, engineers, and client representatives
Managing permits and compliance requirements
Driving safety standards and quality workmanship
This is a hands-on leadership role — you must be comfortable leading from the front.
Trade Qualified Fitter
S1, S2, S3 (Supervisor Qualifications)
Proven experience supervising shutdown crews
Previous Power Station shutdown experience (essential)
Strong understanding of permit systems and isolation procedures
Current Working at Heights, Confined Space & Gas Test Atmospheres
Current Driver’s Licence
White Card
Ability to pass D&A
Highly regarded:
HRWL – EWP & Basic Rigging
Strong leader with shutdown credibility
Able to manage crews in high-pressure outage environments
Proactive problem solver
Safety-first mindset
Reliable and committed for the full duration
