Support heavy equipment maintenance, repairs and fabrication work

We are looking for a practical and safety focused Boilermaker / Welder Fabricator to support our workshop team with welding, fabrication, mechanical maintenance and repair activities.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys working around heavy equipment, and can work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
The role supports the continued operation of company equipment by assisting with maintenance, repairs, inspections, workshop tasks and required documentation.
About the role
As a Boilermaker / Welder Fabricator, you will assist the workshop with crane fitments and carry out welding and fabrication requirements.
You will support maintenance and repair activities, complete relevant paperwork, help maintain workshop standards and contribute to a safe and compliant work environment.
What you’ll be doing
Carry out welding and fabrication work as required
Assist with mechanical maintenance and repair activities
Inspect machines and equipment and report defects
Complete routine maintenance activities and minor repairs
Record pre-start inspections and equipment defects
Complete service reports, logbooks and required paperwork
Maintain workshop tools and facilities to a safe standard
Attend and participate in daily pre-shift meetings
Work safely and efficiently with limited supervision when required
Follow company, client and site safety requirements
Complete and follow JHAs, SWMS and relevant procedures
Support apprentices and junior team members where appropriate
Help maintain good workshop housekeeping and compliance
What you’ll bring
Experience as a Welder, Fabricator or Boilermaker
Mechanical aptitude
Current driver’s licence
Strong manual and technical skills
Good communication skills
Strong planning and problem-solving ability
High attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong commitment to safety and quality work
Willingness to complete required paperwork and documentation
